Youth Majlis Pavilion
A living room for intergenerational dialogue
On behalf of the Misk Foundation, Live Lab supported the Youth Majlis Pavilion at the 2023 World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos. The modular wooden structure in the center of Davos was designed as a “Majlis” – the Arabic word for living room – and brought together young people, experts, and global decision-makers. Live Lab was responsible for construction, the creation of interior renderings, and on-site broadcast support.
Under the guiding principle of “Generation Transformation,” the Misk Foundation created a platform for intergenerational exchange. Four interactive areas highlighted initiatives, milestones, and perspectives: a library serving as a platform for dialogue, Misk World, an interactive experience centered on the “Generation Transformation” initiative, and an immersive experience exploring the values and contributions of different generations.

The temporary wooden structure incorporated design elements inspired by the traditional art of Al-Sadu weaving. Live Lab precisely translated the interior renderings developed by the client into reality and coordinated the construction with local companies. Building materials and the power supply were also sourced locally, ensuring that the pavilion in Davos was both sustainable and firmly rooted in its surroundings.
Over the course of five days, the Youth Majlis brought together more than 2,700 experts and leaders from 68 countries. More than 38 speakers from Saudi Arabia and around the world participated in 16 brainstorming sessions and discussion forums. In addition, approximately 35 global leaders gathered to discuss youth-centered approaches to international cooperation.
