An 80s time travel across campus
For the 135th anniversary of Institut auf dem Rosenberg, Live Lab created a vibrant alumni reunion on the campus in St. Gallen. More than 1,000 former students from around the world entered an 80s-inspired world that brought nostalgia, connection and a forward-looking anniversary moment together in one energetic campus experience.
The journey began with an interactive invitation: Max Headroom combined 80s nostalgia with AI and guided guests playfully towards registration. On site, the Time Tunnel continued the experience with fog, music, champagne and 80s snacks, gradually transforming the campus into a colourful world of movement and encounter.
Electric Avenue turned the campus into a stage for reunion, rhythm and atmosphere – with an aerobics trio, roller skaters, dancers, a beach lounge, Rosenburger, Charly’s Bar and an oversized boombox as the DJ stage. The evening culminated in a bespoke drone show above the campus, synchronised with soundtrack, light and façade mapping – a collective moment that activated memory and pointed ahead.
